Christmas Shoot Pictures

August 28, 2008

On Monday evening, we got together at Alicia’s and hauled out all of her Christmas decorations (no spiders in the boxes! Thank God.) and made her house look as though Frosty the Snowman had spewed his festive dinner all over her living room, in the most delightful way of course. It looked wonderful. The woman had more decorations than most Christmas show homes. Jen, Alicia, Courtney and I did the shoot, while Amy (Jen’s sister and business partner) from Daydream Weddings put up with our silliness (actually, she encouraged it) and got some great shots. Here are a few to set the scene…

Courtney

She can play with the boys, run a mile a minute and the girl’s got style.

Her laugh will leave you wanting more. It's that great.

Courtney in a nutshell via nicknames:  Courtness, Shortness, Court the Sport, Coco, Coco Bean, Cokers, Coco Chanel, Chanel, C2P, Ms. Courts.

Courtney dedicates her participation & this calendar to a close family friend, Kari, who is fighting breast cancer for the second time.  Lots of love!

When Courtney isn’t posing in Calendar’s you can usually find her causing trouble somewhere, or training for the Weekend to End Breast Cancer.

Sunday’s Shoot

August 19, 2008

After getting very little sleep the night before, Jen, Ema and I got up before the birds (well at least before Starbucks was open, which is pretty much the same) and made our way over to West Van to do Ema’s shoot.  We were hoping to get 2 other shoots done this past weekend, but due to an inconvenient creature and Alicia’s oven of a house, we rescheduled. I know women glow when it’s hot out, but models don’t sweat. At least not for the month of December (which is what we were supposed to shoot).

Ema worked the rest of the day, Jen did some house cleaning and me, well I had a much needed nap.

She just got bit by a mosquito and she loved it. Doint Ema's make-up makes her smile too.

She just got bit by a mosquito and she loved it. Doing Ema's make up makes her happy too. At least 2 out of 3 were awake.

I wonder if the lighthouse keeper still lives there. Someone was mowing the lawn and it wasn't us.

Great News!

One of our goals making this calendar was to get approval from the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. After having a wonderful chat with the delightful Lesley of the CBCF and filling out an application, the Board approved us. To boot, they even wrote this lovely note to one of the manager’s at a future shoot location.

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, BC/Yukon Region is honoured to be the beneficiary of the “Put Your Best Breast Forward” a calendar which will raise funds and awareness for the Foundation. We are grateful for your support of this event and thank you for your trust in the work being done by our Foundation and allowing the girls to shoot at (Location name has been taken out for now).

The success of our Foundation is built upon the passion and commitment of our invaluable volunteers and supporters like Natasha John and the girls in the calendar. Their energy and passion for the cause is an inspiration to all of us, as they strives to reach her fundraising goals.

How awesome is that?! We are very jazzed about this and look forward to raising some cash money to donate to the CBCF.

We did another shoot today out at the Light House in West Van, a post to come!

She’s what you get when sass and baking are combined.

She likes fat cats, and they like her.

She likes fat cats, and they like her.

When the girls at work presented me with this excellent opportunity to take my clothes off for a good cause, I couldn’t say no. According to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, one in nine Canadian women are expected to develop breast cancer at some point in their life. That’s a lot of ladies. So buy a lot of calendars.

Katie Stewart is a ham. When she is not wearing red lipstick and batting her eyelashes, she is busy studying English literature and reading naughty books. Katie’s breasts suddenly appeared over the summer of grade 8. Since then, they have been an inseparable team. Katie enjoys riding her bike, eating cheese, and drinking wine with the ladies. She is honored to be a part of this calendar.
